A motorist who caused a police chase after he left a Midlothian pub in his car said he "panicked", a court heard.
Martin Grieve, 42, crashed his car into a grass verge and told officers he had been drinking after losing his job.
But a breath test showed he was not drunk. He pled guilty to dangerous driving on Queensway, Rullion Road, Carlops Road and the A702 on 2 August.
